Our mission is to provide our partners with quality products. With our products and services, which are the result of highly professional and development-creative work, we provide optimal solutions for achieving quality metallurgical and foundry products. Our added value is also the sale of other metallurgical materials, which are crucial for the operation of foundries and steelworks. Due to our size, we are an agile and flexible partner and adapt quickly to market conditions. Our guide for customers is: "EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE".

VISION

We want to strengthen our current position in the domestic, European and other foreign markets and, with the help of professional staff, become the most reliable and environmentally friendly business partner in the sale of auxiliary metallurgical materials and products for foundries and steelworks.

GOALS

The goal of the company's operations is long-term and stable economic profitability and growth in the volume of operations in all areas from commercial, human resources and market share. Our company is focused on the future and on increasing the selection of sales items and accessibility and flexibility to customers. With the help of digitalization, we are moving to a newer, more advanced business model with which we will adapt even more effectively to our customers and their requirements.

INNOVATION IS THE SOURCE OF PROGRESS

There is no progress without innovation. In this conviction we constantly monitor the quality of our products while developing new ones. Our Development and Research Department closely cooperates with our scientific colleagues, partners and customers, especially the Department for Materials and Metallurgy of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering (University of Ljubljana) and our foreign partner, Magma GmbH from Germany.

2024

DECEMBER 2024

In December 2024, we obtained a decision that we had obtained funds to co-finance the implementation project: “Development of a new technology for the drying process of thermal insulation moldings”. The proposed implementation project focuses on optimizing energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact in the production process of GARNEX thermal insulation moldings. 

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. has successfully applied for the public call "Support for Start-ups, Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Strategic Sustainable and Circular Transformation of Business Operations 2022–2025 (Phase B)" (abbreviated as JR STKTP NOO 2022–2025), implemented under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

The call was administered by the Slovenian Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalization, Foreign Investments and Technology (SPIRIT Slovenia) and co-financed by the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in accordance with the measures defined in the Slovenian Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The financial resources for the implementation of the project are provided by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Facility – NextGenerationEU.

OKTOBER 2024

The company EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. received co-financing for eligible costs in 2024 through the "Voucher for obtaining certificates." The public call is being implemented within the framework of the European Cohesion Policy Program for the 2021-2027 period in Slovenia, under Priority 1 "Innovative Knowledge Society," and Specific Objective RSO1.3 "Strengthening the sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation in SMEs, including through productive investments of the ERDF."


SEPTEMBER 2024

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. has successfully completed its project under Phase A - Lot 1 of the Public Call for "Support for Startups, Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Strategic, Sustainable, and Circular Transformation Business Models for 2022-2025," as part of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.

As part of the project, EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. implemented a strategic, sustainable, and circular transformation of its business operations and achieved the following key results:

  • Developed a long-term sustainable and circular business strategy, based on sustainable development and circular principles.
  • Introduced sustainable and circular business models, enhancing resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
  • Prepared an implementation plan that will contribute to the ongoing realization of the company’s sustainable and circular business strategy.

 

The project was conducted from April 2024 to September 2024, with a total project value of €34,770.00, fully financed through European Union funds under the NextGeneration EU initiative.

This investment will contribute to the long-term sustainable growth of the company and strengthen its market competitiveness with innovative, eco-friendly solutions.

MAREC 2024

The company EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. has successfully been selected for phase A - Lot 1 of the Public Call for Support to start-ups, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in strategic, sustainable, and circular transformation business models for the years 2022-2025, under the recovery and resilience mechanism.

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. is implementing a strategic, sustainable, and circular business transformation as part of the project, through which we have achieved the following results:

  • A long-term sustainable and circular business strategy for the company
  • Sustainable and circular-oriented business models
  • A proposal for an implementation project that will contribute to the realization of the company's sustainable and circular business strategy

QUALITY

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. is one of the largest Central European companies for production, development and marketing of insulating, coating and other inorganic products for ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy.

At EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. we are well aware that the concept of quality is not limited to a product being compliant with the requirements, but includes the satisfaction of customers and all other parties involved. In view of this, our relatively young team of employees use their knowledge, inventiveness and experience to develop, manufacture and constantly improve our products and services. We keep our customers satisfied with after sales support, providing further information and additional services, while using the created added value to keep our owners and employees happy.

To ensure the required level of quality, in 2000 we decided to implement a quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2000 standard with the certification body BVCi. We received the quality certificate on November 28, 2001. In our commitment to the environment, we obtained the ISO 14001 certificate in 2024. In the field of occupational health and safety, we first acquired the OHSAS 18001 certificate in 2016, which we upgraded in 2019 to the ISO 45001 standard. The company consistently follows the requirements of all three acquired ISO standards and regularly carries out certification audits performed by BVCi as well as internal audits. In this way, we comprehensively ensure the quality of products and services, a safe and healthy working environment for employees, and sustainable resource management. The management systematically supports development and improvements with the necessary investments, while employees, through their awareness and dedication, make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of the system. We place particular emphasis on risk prevention, reducing environmental impacts, and optimizing processes. In this way, we strengthen the long-term trust of our customers, partners, and other stakeholders.

We are aware that the quality of products and services depends on the quality of individual processes and sub-processes in the company. Therefore, our quality management system is based on a process approach, where the planning and provision of necessary resources and the implementation and monitoring of each process and sub-process individually take place, to guarantee their smooth functioning and, consequently, successfully meet the needs of our customers. In managing the quality system we use so-called Deming PDCA Cycle: Plan – Do – Check – Act.

The fulfillment of our quality standards, which are written in our quality policy and economic plan, and continuous improvements of the quality management system are checked annually by two internal audits and a managerial review. We are proud that as many as 10 of our 41 employees are qualified internal auditors who can successfully carry out the audits.

The primary objectives of our quality management system are:

  • to develop and manufacture products that meet (and exceed) the needs and expectations of our customers, both in terms of quality and environmental protection
  • to establish good long-term partnerships with our customers and suppliers, which are key to improving quality in all areas
  • to achieve our set goals and quality standards
  • to create a motivation-oriented work environment and ensure good relations between employees, their continuing education and personal growth
  • Capital investment in facilities and equipment that ensure continuous improvement of manufacturing products and working environment
  • Concern for the environment – by waste reduction, the installation of high-quality and environmentally friendly raw materials, the rational use of energy and environmentally friendly equipment in compliance with legal requirements.

QUALITY POLICY and SAFETY and HEALTH AT WORK

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. wants to remain an internationally recognized and reliable manufacturer and supplier of quality auxiliary materials for the foundry and metallurgical industry in Europe and to offer quality technical assistance to users, both in the use of our products and in solving foundry technology problems for customers with the help of computer simulation.

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. invests in the development of a creative and stimulating work environment, new technologies and employee training, thereby ensuring the conditions for smooth operation and integration of all processes, the product of which are high-quality products and services with which we meet the needs and expectations of owners, customers, suppliers and employees, at the same time however, with positive examples, it constantly demonstrates its commitment to the development and implementation of the quality management system, the occupational health and safety management system, and their continuous improvement.

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. achieves its successes by optimizing costs, appropriate planning and management of the operation of individual processes, constant monitoring of the set goals, analysis of the results of the work of the processes and appropriate action in case of identified non-conformities.

EXOTERM-IT d.o.o. ensures that all employees and those who work on our behalf are responsible for preventing injuries and health problems. Our goal is to eliminate or reduce all identified risks to the lowest possible level. We incorporate safety and health requirements into all phases of work. Our policy is the basis for setting goals, with the help of which we continuously improve our management system.

In line with this, we have implemented a range of measures to prevent pollution and reduce the consumption of resources such as electricity and water. We embrace technological innovations and implement measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful substances, thereby minimizing our environmental footprint. We also recognize the importance of effective waste management. In our company, we practice waste separation and encourage reuse and recycling. This helps reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and contributes to the conservation of natural resources. We are advocates of a circular economy.



SUSTAINABILITY

Earth is what we all have in common.

Being aware of our responsibility towards the environment and community in which we work, we respect and strictly comply with environmental laws and regulations. All our products and services are planned, developed, produced and carried out with environmental concerns in mind. We promote and demand responsible environment management, striving for permanent improvement of environmental conditions, reduction of emissions and effective waste disposal. We recycle and buy recycled raw materials and products from our suppliers and do our best to use natural resources including solar energy.

Our 650 kW solar plant has been operational since 2013.

In 2022, we calculated the organization's carbon footprint according to the ISO 14064-1:2019 standard and the GHG protocol.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

The circular economy is a model of production and consumption based on sharing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible. By extending product lifecycles, waste generation is significantly reduced. At the end of a product's life, its materials are retained within the economy wherever possible, allowing them to be reused repeatedly and creating additional value.

At EXOTERM-IT d.o.o., we follow both Slovenian and European Union guidelines for the transition to a circular economy. The company has also actively participated in the CAT4.0 project.

Waste Management

Our production facility has a well-established system for recycling production scrap. Approximately 90% of production waste is reprocessed internally and reused in the manufacturing of new products.

In our administrative and office facilities, waste paper is collected separately and returned to the production process whenever possible, supporting efficient resource utilization.

Secondary Raw Materials

Based on extensive research, we have identified by-products from certain industries that are commonly treated as waste but still possess valuable properties. With appropriate processing, these materials can be partially or fully incorporated into the production of our own products.

EXOTERM-IT continuously explores new opportunities to utilize production scrap and secondary raw materials generated by other companies.

We work closely with academic institutions, industry partners, and customers to foster innovation. Our R&D team collaborates with the Department of Materials and Metallurgy at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, as well as with Magma GmbH in Germany, combining scientific expertise with industrial experience to develop advanced materials and technologies.

HISTORY

Important milestones in our history

1772

Josip Fock from Kranj founded soap works which remained in family ownership until nationalisation in 1946.

1947

A soap factory (Tvornica mila) was established with eight employees. It manufactured  soap, powdered soap and other chemical products.

1958

The factory was renamed “Oven Kranj”. Due to a decline in the market for washing, cleaning, chemical and cosmetic products, it discontinued the manufacture of soap products in 1960 and  switched to chemical products for foundry and metallurgy.

1961

The company changed its name to "Exoterm chemical works".

1991

Collapse of the joint Yugoslav market and fall in production. In the 1990's the company commences ownership transformation.

1995

Beginning of technical cooperation with German companies Eckart Werrke (and its subsidiary “non ferrum” from Austria in the field of production of Alu-dust) and MAGMA GmbH from Aachen in the field of computer simulation in foundry.

2002

Completion of ownership transformation and establishment of a subsidiary company Exoterm-it d.o.o. for production, engineering, representation and trade.

2009

Exoterm-it d.o.o. was awarded the Gazela prize as one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in Slovenia.

EXOTERM HOLDING D.D.

As a holding company, EXOTERM d.d. manages its own assets. Through its subsidiary, EXOTERM-IT, the Exoterm Group has stregthened its position in the metallurgical and foundry industries on both the domestic and foreign markets. Thanks to its constantly improving business management and competitive prices it has gained the confidence of customers and the appreciation of business partners. The company will continue to pursue a steady growth and development with increasing competitiveness and decreasing operating costs.
